The third Mayor’s Charity event took place in November and was a talk on Maldon and WW1 by Stephen Nunn with Bill Geller giving his father’s recollections and Steve Williams leading the singing of a number of well known songs of the time. Bully Beef was not on the menu but Fish and chips sufficed. Richard Wooldridge from the Combined Military Services Museum generously donated a number of artefacts for display as did Nina Miller. He evening raised £600. Any references to Blackadder Goes forth or Dad’s Army are probably fully justified.
