Climate Change event at the Plume Academy

Terry and I attended a public meeting at the Plume Academy, `Climate Change – the Last Straw’, which was hosted by head teacher Carl Wakefield and chaired by John Whittingdale MP. There were presentations from Hattie Phillips; Gareth Redmond-King from the World Wildlife Fund; Darren Tansley from Essex Wildlife Trust; and Professor Sam Fankhauser from Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change. All three experts spoke well and clearly spelt out the dangers of not changing our ways to save our planet but the undoubted star speaker was Hattie Phillips, a 13 year-old Plume student who had organised the event with Jill Bruce WI Climate Ambassador Affiliated to the Climate Coalition.  Hattie spoke eloquently and with passion about acting now before it is too late!
